Overview

Description

The sea is blue, clear, warm and friendly

Spend five days on this Dubrovnik sailing getaway around the most spectacular coastline in Europe discovering tiny islands and secluded coves of Dubrovnik archipelago hidden in the sparkling blue of the Adriatic. Travelling aboard you will experience the true culture of the islands and people. This sailing adventure holiday isn’t just a sailing trip or an adventure package. It is designed for those who love being active, who admire the outdoors and appreciate ancient architecture and local tradition. Lopud, Kolocep and Sipan belong to the Elafiti Islands archipelago – some of Croatia’s most beautiful green islands covered by forests with lots of sunshine and sandy beaches, free of traffic and under an hour’s sailing from Dubrovnik. Our yachts or kayaks are occasionally escorted by friendly dolphins or tuna that are often seen in the area. Croatia is alive with well-preserved old towns, castles, palaces, monuments and native architecture. Together with the tradition, folklore, art scenes and music it is a unique and exotic place to discover.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival - Kolocep kayaking and sailing to Lopud

After the arrival at Dubrovnik Airport or harbour (please arrive by 10 am) you will be transferred to Komolac, an area just outside Dubrovnik. After boarding we will sail out northwest to Lopud island on our modern catamaran yacht for up to 10 passengers with a lot of deck space, comfort and very good sailing performance. Our first stop is Kolocep island, ideal for sea kayaking. For the night we will anchor in one of the most beautiful bays of the area for dinner and a swim.

Accommodation: catamaran

Day 2 - Ston sightseeing, Sipan island cycling and hiking

This morning we continue sailing west between the Elaphiti Islands until we reach Ston on the Peljesac Peninsula - a lovely old town unspoiled by tourism, with pleasant cafes and restaurants. Take the time to explore the Ston city walls, salt farms, or taste its famous oysters or mussels. In the early afternoon we sail back to Sipan Island with occasional swimming and snorkelling stops. Luka Sipanska is a charming and romantic fishing village in a bay surrounded with palm trees. Its beauty makes it a favourite mooring place of sailing yachts. Sipan is the largest of the Elaphiti Islands. We will explore its landscape, castles, chapels and monasteries by bike or on foot. A pleasant day will be spent walking in the serene ambiance of the village, tasting local seafood and wines and enjoying a swim.

Accommodation: catamaran. Meals: B.

Day 3 - Mljet Island National Park sailing, cycling and swimming

The third day of your holiday is reserved for Mljet Island National Park. Two salt water lakes surrounded by a lush, green forest, the larger one with a small island in the middle, make this island a spectacular location for kayaking, hiking, cycling and swimming. We will cycle from the catamaran to the lakes, where you can take a boat to the small island with a 12th century Benedictine monastery. In the late afternoon we will sail towards the Peljesac Peninsula and anchor in a quiet bay near Zuljana Village.

Accommodation: catamaran. Meals: B.

Day 4 - Peljesac Peninsula kayaking and snorkelling

Today we spend the first part of the day exploring the Peljesac Peninsula, one of the most successful and famous wine making regions in Croatia. It is a true oasis of peace with its vast vineyards, salt and oyster farms, quiet towns, narrow streets and hidden beaches. We will spend the morning sea kayaking to the White Beach, a very special bay which can be reached only by boat or kayak. Its caves and reefs make it an ideal place for swimming and snorkelling. This is the last day of activities: in the afternoon (around 1pm) we will transfer you to Zaton Bay on the mainland.

Accommodation: guesthouse in Zaton Bay. Meals: B.

Day 5 - Departure day

Transfer to Dubrovnik for home bound flight. You are welcome to schedule your homeward transport for any time. If you decide to spend more time in Croatia, our guides will be happy to recommend other beautiful places to visit - especially those you won’t find in tourist guide books.
